Who Should Attend?
The course is intended for those with general technical background on a degree level, who begin to work in technical departments in telecom companies.
Course Content
- Analogue and digital transmission.
- Switching (circuit switching – telephone networks, packet switching – computer networks and cell switching – ATM networks).
- Transmission media (copper cable, fibre optic, radio).
- Transmission systems (PDH, SDH, Sonet, ATM).
- Mobile communication systems (cordless telephones: DECT, cellular telephone networks: NMT, GSM, GPRS, UMTS and paging networks: ERMES).
- Computer networks (wide area networks, X.25. Ethernet, local area networks, communication over internet).
Course Objectives
Modern Telecommunication is an intermediate course, which covers wide range of aspects concerning today’s world of telecommunications: from public switched telephone networks through mobile communications networks, including GSM and UMTS, to computer networks and Internet.
Pre-requisites
The participants should have attended the Telecommunications Basics course or have general technical knowledge on a degree level for better understanding.
Training Structure
Five days training divided into logical sessions.
